How do YOU look at things?

First a little joke or chuckle if you will.....

Two real estate agents go to a foreign country to open up new markets selling the latest in new shoes.
Three days after arriving, one real estate agent said, "I’m returning on the next flight.
Can’t sell shoes here. Everybody goes barefoot."
At the same time the other real estate agent sent an email to the factory,
in that email was written -  "The prospects are unlimited. Nobody wears shoes here!"

Which way would you look at this situation? Do you look for the positive in the things that come your way or do you immediately see the negative?

In this world that we live in it is hard to see the positive sometimes.  We are taught as children that "if it seems to be to good to be true than it probably is".

While that is not bad advice sometimes we must just throw caution to the wind and GO FOR IT!

Being a religious man, I know that my "good book" tells me that we are to put all trust in all things in him.  But many times I have found myself in such a position that it is hard to do.  We have become no less than control freaks wanting to control every aspect of our lives...even things that we cannot control.

Go back and read the chuckle again and think long and hard about what your response would be.  Maybe new direction will come for the new year!

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Buyers...ohhh how frugal they are......

If there is anyone who specifically wants to work with buyers only...I applaud you.  Good luck and God's speed to you.

As for me...I prefer to work with sellers.  Sellers seem to me to be more realistic in what is going on with the process.  They know what they have to offer and what the value of it is, materially...not necessarily monetarily.

Buyers on the other hand NEVER know what they want and when they find it they don't even know that they have found it!  They come to you with a picture in their heads, as if you didn't already know...we all think in pictures not words...think about an apple and you will see it in your mind not the word, and as they begin to look at properties the picture evolves and sometimes COMPLETELY changes.  I always have them write down their wants and needs BEFORE we go out to look and then present them back to them if those things seem to be changing as we are looking to get them back on track.

As for me...give me a seller any day.  I would rather take my chances on getting the listing than driving all over the place and then doing it again a few days later....ohhh the repetition......

Ok, rant over.....you may return to your previously viewed channel....

Here comes the food drive!

Well Saturday is coming up fast.  All the planning and prep we have put into putting this food drive together is about to be put to the test.  Will we be a huge success?  I hope so!  I want to make this a yearly thing.

If anyone is contemplating putting together a charity event I praise you for your efforts...I also want to tell you that is is A LOT of work.  So be prepared and have fun and THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX!

I would venture to say that I have walked miles this week handing out fliers and meeting people trying to get the word out about the event.  This has a two-fold effect, first it gets the word out and hopefully makes for a successful event.  Second it gets me out amongst the people and hopefully some business will follow from it...and now that I think about it I think it has a third effect...I get some SERIOUS exercise!

I really do hope that I can turn this into a yearly thing and move up from my 6' by 10' enclosed trailer to a 53' semi to fill.  I definetely believe that "getting" definetely starts with giving!

Anybody thinking of doing anything like this...DO IT!!! The rewards are numerous.

Free publicity?? Helping those who need it.

I am being published!!!!

I had an idea of a food drive come to me one night while I was sleeping, literally woke from a deep sleep, even came with the slogan.

I have been working on putting it together along with everything else going on and I got to tell ya...it's a lot of work!

It is all coming together now and the local newspaper published a short mention about it in this morning's paper and will do it again next week!  Finally some FREE advertiement.....whew.  I was soo suprised when I saw it and then for it to be the first mention of the section!!!

I am a true believer that doing things for others does pay off.

Wish me luck with the food drive!!!

The following is the mention in the paper.
